Christopher F. Bates, DMD

Christopher F. Bates, DMDDr. Christopher Bates received both his Bachelor and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degrees from the University of Louisville, in Kentucky. After completing a 1-year General Practice Residency at Louisvilleís Veterans Administration Hospital, Dr. Bates joined the United States Air Force Dental Corps.

Dr. Bates proudly served his country in the USAF for 21 years, improving the dental health of fellow servicemen and women. The Air Force twice brought Dr. Bates’ family to San Antonio, where he completed his Endodontic Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in 1996. Dr. Bates attained the rank of Colonel, and educated many dental officers as director of residency programs.

Dr. Bates is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Bulverde is home for Dr. Bates and his wife-of-34-years, Phyllis. They have two sons who live in Houston, Christopher and Patrick. The Bates live on a small ranch, where they enjoy cattle and dogs. Their favorite pastime is Scottish folk dancing.
